From the time each was founded, West Plains Bank and Trust Company, West Plains Bancshares, and Towne Financial Services doing business as Towne Insurance have protected the privacy of our customers and the confidentiality of your transactions with us. We understand the protection of information about you and your accounts is important to you, and therefore, it is important to us. We want to explain our practices and procedures regarding the use of nonpublic personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of nonpublic personal information about you: • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address, social security number, income, assets, and liabilities; • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others such as account balances, payment history, parties to a transaction, transaction frequency, and location; • Information about you or your transactions that is in the public record such as real estate transfers, marriages, divorces, and deeds of trust filed; • Information from a consumer reporting agency (also known as a credit bureau) such as credit history, payment history, other accounts, and transaction history.
Information We Disclose
We may disclose all of the information that we collect, as described above.
West Plains Bank and Trust Company, West Plains Bancshares, and Towne Financial Services doing business as Towne Insurance are related companies called affiliates. We may disclose nonpublic personal information (as listed in the Information We Collect section) about you to our affiliates.
We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to non-financial companies not affiliated with us. These companies help us by providing computer, data processing, database management, printing, and mail services. We insist that any non-affiliated service provider we use must adhere to strict information protection standards.
We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law. An example of such a disclosure would be when you give your permission to disclose nonpublic personal information we have about you to some other person or company. Another example would be when you request a product like checks or a debit card.
We do not sell our customer lists to independent direct mail or telemarketing companies.
Information Security
The protection of any nonpublic personal information about you we may have is an important part of our work. We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know your information in order to process your transactions, to service your accounts with us, and to otherwise provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
For instance, not all employees have access to all the information we have about you. Employees are only permitted to see that information they need to do their jobs. All of our paper files are in areas of our buildings where the general public is not allowed and where only authorized employees may be permitted. Access to our computer systems is very restricted. We have a variety of policies and procedures our employees must follow to insure that the nonpublic personal information we collect is needed to provide you with products and services. These policies and procedures also insure that any nonpublic personal information is disclosed only for authorized and permitted purposes.
